Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner

Location: 23rd Medical Group/Military Medicine Clinic/Flight Medicine/BOMC/Women Health Clinic, Medical Management, Moody AFB

Hours: Monday to Friday, between 7 AM - 6 PM, No more than 40 hours per week. 8-hour shift with a 1-hour lunch break. No work on Federal Holidays.

Dress Code: Business Casual - Always wear badge.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are highly recommended but not required.
  • Must have American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course.
  • Bachelor's Degree from Accredited University.
  • Minimum 24 months of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner within the last 36 months.

Duties: The Family Nurse Practitioner will utilize their professional education, certification, and experience to conduct in-person and telephonic Deployment Related Health Assessments (DRHA) and annual mental health assessment (MHA) services at Moody AFB. Duties include:

  • Conducting medical assessments to determine deployability following specified workflows.
  • Reviewing medical records for conditions that may impact deployability.
  • Preparing and submitting DRHA and/or MHA-related administrative reports.
  • Assisting with deployment medical waivers as requested.
  • Conducting peer reviews of other providers' deployment health-related assessments.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with computer systems such as MHS Genesis and Aeromedical Services Information Management System (ASIMS).
  • Completion of DRHA/MHA provider training requirements as specified in DAFI 48-122.
  • Adherence to Department of Defense and Air Force policies and guidance.
