About Us:
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is a leading provider of healthcare services, specializing in delivering quality care to military personnel and their families. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Elmendorf Air Force Base.
Requirements:
- Degree/Education: Certificate in Psychiatric Technician Program from an accredited institution or equivalent education and experience meeting the standards of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians. Completion of an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients will also be considered.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician post-graduation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Psychiatric Technician, you will be responsible for a range of duties aimed at supporting the treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Your core duties will include:
- Conducting or assisting in treatment and rehabilitation procedures for patients.
- Performing initial basic assessment procedures, including psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological and nursing assessments.
- Identifying mental health and nursing diagnoses, and providing patient education.
- Observing, monitoring, recording, and reporting on patient progress.
- Conducting or assisting in group and individual counseling, therapeutic community, and other related milieu activities.
