Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Acupuncturist at Elmendorf_Richardson Pain Clinic in Anchorage Alaska.
Job Description:
- Serves as an Acupuncturist offering a full array of the most current and emerging evidence-based Integrative Medicine approaches for patients with acute and chronic pain who have not responded well to conventional treatment modalities in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF.
- Examine all patients prior to initiating a treatment procedure or providing appropriate services. Determines if acupuncture is suitable for the patient by questioning, observing, and examining patients as well as reviewing patient’s drug therapies, health, and medical histories. Obtains patients’ medical histories.
- Provide appropriate therapeutic procedures and provide a full range of therapy services in support of patient referrals.
- Counsels patients on nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, and other matters related to acupuncture care.
Job Requirements:
The Position will have the following requirements:
- Graduate of an Acupuncture Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) or a certified medical acupuncturist.
- A current, unrestricted license to practice Acupuncture
- Applicant shall have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Applicant is required to possess an American Heart Association equivalent health care provider BLS certification with hands-on training
- Shall possess a minimum of two (2) years active acupuncture practice experience in which he/she consistently administered both diagnosis and treatment services. A minimum of two (2) years within the past three (3) years in the active practice of acupuncture health care
