RN - Med/Surg

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a rewarding opportunity within the Med/Surg department at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. As a Med/Surg RN with Spectrum, you will join a dedicated team of healthcare professionals providing exceptional care to our nation's veterans.

Qualifications: 

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

• A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.

• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by an American Health Association Vendor.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If assigned to a specialty clinic, contract nurse/RN shall also have current Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to healthcare providers.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
