Hours of Performance:
Monday to Friday, 0600-1700 (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

• Assist oral surgeon in complex oral maxillofacial procedures in hospital operating rooms and dental clinics.
• Schedule patients, obtain medical history, perform restorations, and operate dental X-ray equipment.
• Administer IV medications, monitor patients under anesthesia, and provide post-surgical care.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, order supplies, and accurately record treatment information.

Requirements:

• Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA).
• Experience in oral surgery procedures.
• Proficiency in dental X-ray equipment and OSHA regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications:

• Graduates from a formal dental assistant program with a minimum of three (3) months curriculum and six (6) months clinical experience; OR at least one (1) year of clinical dental assisting experience.
• Oral and maxillofacial surgery assistants with training or experience within the past two (2) years and three (3) additional months of assisting experience.
• Certification in basic CPR approved by American Red Cross or American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider Course.
• Certification in ACLS prior to the beginning of the contract and maintenance throughout the term.
