Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a civilian Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal (NNP) at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

 

Position Highlights:

  • Freedom from on-call responsibilities 
  • Rotating 15 hour shifts (typical shift 4:30PM-7:30AM)
  • No more than 80 hours in a two week period

Responsibilities:

  • Provide care for infants and their families in the Delivery Room, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Step Down Nursery, and Special Care Nursery
  • Assist in the case management of complex neonatal patients through assessing, monitoring, and evaluating care
  • Provide consultations for neonatal patients with issues such as fluid and electrolyte imbalances, ventilation issues, anemia, jaundice, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), transient tachypnea of the newborn (TTN) and/or other unusual complication
  • Promote preventative care and health maintenance through individual education and counseling 

Position Requirements:

  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) required
  • Certification as a NNP from the National Certification Corporation (NCC)
  • 1-year experience within the past 3 years as a Nurse Practitioner in a Neonatal Unit
  • Any state license
  • BLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE certifications
