Psychiatric Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the Naval Hospital Everett Branch Mental Health Clinic. This role involves providing high-quality mental health care and support to patients in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the care and treatment of patients with mental health conditions
• Observe and report on the behavior and condition of patients
• Provide therapeutic and recreational activities for patients
• Assist in the implementation of treatment plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care

Qualifications:

• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program; or
• Completion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the requirements of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians; or
• Completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military, with proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training or a civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients
• At least one year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician after graduation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
