Requirements:

 

  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Advanced certification in Mammography (M) by ARRT.
  • State licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist (if applicable).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in performing mammography exams.
  • Proficiency in operating mammographic equipment and understanding of imaging techniques.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advances in mammography technology and practices.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform mammography examinations using specialized equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate and maintain radiographic and mammographic equipment.
  • Follow established protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients for mammography exams to ensure optimal imaging.
  • Conduct routine quality control tests on mammographic equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret mammography results.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to radiologic technology and mammography.
  • Provide patient education on mammography procedures and answer any questions or concerns.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Recognize emergency patient conditions, initiate emergency measures as necessary, and inform appropriate personnel.
