Requirements:
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Advanced certification in Mammography (M) by ARRT.
- State licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist (if applicable).
- Minimum of one year of experience in performing mammography exams.
- Proficiency in operating mammographic equipment and understanding of imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advances in mammography technology and practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform mammography examinations using specialized equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate and maintain radiographic and mammographic equipment.
- Follow established protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures.
- Prepare and position patients for mammography exams to ensure optimal imaging.
- Conduct routine quality control tests on mammographic equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret mammography results.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to radiologic technology and mammography.
- Provide patient education on mammography procedures and answer any questions or concerns.
- Emergency Preparedness: Recognize emergency patient conditions, initiate emergency measures as necessary, and inform appropriate personnel.
