Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Phlebotomy Technician at Sullivan Memorial Blood Center in Fort Moore, GA!
Position Details:
- Full-Time (Permanent Position)
- Monday - Sunday | Variable 8 hour shifts
- PTO and sick time accrual
- Paid Federal Holidays
Position Requirements:
- High school Diploma preferred.
- Certification/registration as a Phlebotomy Technician, Donor Phlebotomy Technician or equivalent by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or other agency approved by the Assistant Secretary Defense (Health Affairs), ASD (HA) or The Joint Commission or CAP
- Must have performed 50 successful donor collections or patient venipunctures/sample draws with an accredited donor center, laboratory, plasma center, dialysis center, or healthcare facility.
Core Duties:
- Comply with all CFR, Blood Services Directives, Blood Services Letters, Local Operating
- Draws blood samples on adults; reviews collection kit to ensure all required information is present; determines types of specimens to be collected and if proper patient preparation has been accomplished; selects appropriate venipuncture site and cleans to ensure contamination-free field.
- Performs routine and complicated venipuncture providing immediate care to donors who may faint or become nauseous during the procedure.
- Receives donors, visitors and answers telephone calls. Determines nature of inquiry. Directs the inquiry to the appropriate section. Takes and relays messages. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the section at all times.
