Position Overview: The Registered Nurse - Pain Management will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing chronic pain. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized pain management plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients' pain levels and responses to treatments
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement pain management plans
- Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques and medication usage
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives related to pain management
Qualifications:
- Degree/Education:
- Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or a Graduate Diploma in Nursing from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Current Pain Management Nursing certification as determined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Experience:
- In lieu of the Pain Management Nursing certification, a minimum of three (3) years of clinical work experience as a full-time RN within the preceding five (5) years, including at least one (1) year of pain management nursing experience working in a setting with chronic pain patients
