Degree Requirements:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
Education:
- Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited college or university.
Internship/Residency:
- Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship in psychology.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of full-time treatment experience post-licensure, with documented experience in treatment supervision, oversight, and management.
- At least two (2) years of clinical psychology practice within the past five (5) years.
- Must provide clinical peer reviews conducted within two years prior to application.
- Experience in behavioral interventions, critical incident event management, public speaking, and case management.
Licensure:
- Active, full, unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Basic Life Support (BLS):
- Must maintain current BLS certification through an American Heart Association and/or Red Cross-approved training program.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to practice independently without state-mandated clinical supervision, with a strong understanding of professional standards and ethics in delivering psychological services.
- Effective communication skills to interact with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds, including military personnel, senior leadership, spouses, and family members.
- Proficiency in crisis debriefing, traumatic event counseling, individual and family counseling, case management, and training.
- Capable of preparing and delivering formal briefings and presentations to INSCOM leadership across all echelons.
- Familiarity with military culture and lifestyle is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships within and outside the organization, demonstrating maturity, professionalism, a positive attitude, tact, and good judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Core Duties:
- Practice in accordance with state licensing board guidelines, APA Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) privileges.
- Adhere to Army OTSG/MEDCOM, DHA, and/or Combatant Command Force Health Protection policies for deployment assessments.
- Conduct psychological evaluations using clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral information as appropriate.
- Establish psychiatric diagnoses following the APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
- Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups, including assisting medical and surgical patients in coping with illness or injury.
