About the Role:
Join our team as a Behavioral Health Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of patients. This position involves direct patient care, assessment, and coordination of behavioral health services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
- Certificate (Level 2) or Associate’s degree from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician post-graduation.
- Experience in the U.S. military or civilian psychiatric technician training program.
- Certification:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Skills:
- Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, speaking).
- Strong team collaboration skills with professionalism and positive attitude.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Core Duties:
- Assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients.
- Conduct initial assessments including psychological testing, interviews, and mental status examinations.
- Provide patient education on mental health topics.
- Monitor, record, and report patient progress.
- Conduct or assist in group and individual counseling sessions.
- Implement precautionary measures to prevent patient injury or suicide.
- Record vital signs and maintain patient records.
- Coordinate care with other agencies and facilitate patient referrals to appropriate services.
- Ensure compliance with Army, DHA, and Combatant Command policies on deployment assessments.
