Medical Assistant-OB/GYN

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a Medical Assistant to support to join our Women's Health department (Obstetrics and Gynecology) at the Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center in Dumfries, VA.  

Anticipated schedule: Monday-Friday 0700-1530 or 730-1600

Position Overview: 

 This position provides medical assistant services in support of patient care and treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Experienced with biopsies, polyp removals and related procedures - REQUIRED
• Taking a patient's history and personal information upon arrival of appointment
• Responsible for tracking of some reports 
• Checking patient vitals and provide assistance to physician in office with dermatological procedures 
• Screens walk-in patients for eligibility for treatment.   
• Handle light administrative duties; schedule appointments of patients.
• Handle/triage patient to staff questions.
• Maintains and stock forms and inventory needed at front desk.
• Performs various other clerical tasks to assist clinical staff members

Requirements:

• Required: Graduated from an Accredited Medical Assistant program 
• Required: 2-years of experience as a medical assistant.
  • At least 3 months experience working in a women's health center or Ob/Gyn clinical setting (resume must reflect solid, relevant experience)
• Active BLS certification required from American Heart Association 
• *Must be a U.S. citizen 
• Updated immunizations with proof
