Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian part-time OB Registration Nurse at the Fort Belvoir-Dumfries Ambulatory Care Clinic in Dumfries, VA.  This position will require part-time 24 hours a week schedule.  Patients are seen for routine OB-GYN care including prenatal care, well women exams, and family planning. The OB-GYN Clinic provides outpatient OB-GYN care and nursing care through health promotion, prenatal screening, diagnosis, treatment, and education.

 

This contract position offers: 

  • Part-time schedule - Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-4pm EST
  • Outpatient Clinic Setting
  • Opportunity to work with our Military and families
  • 11 Federal Holidays
  • No on-call/no Sundays

 

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • OB intake nurse(create a record for the pt, obtain history, order labs, educate on pregnancy care /colpo nurse (managing f/u paps)
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
  • Evaluates patient's response and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patient's stay.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • An understanding of medical and clinic settings.
  • Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other staff members.
  • Demonstrated competence email and written communication.
  • Availability to work a schedule a day schedule on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Prior OB experience needed
  • At least 2-years’ experience as a registered nurse.
  • Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
