Spectrum Healthcare Resources is excited to announce a potential opportunity for a Dental Hygienist to join our team in providing outstanding care at the Naval Hospital Dental Clinic Camp Pendleton, CA.
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Must have completed a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA).
- Must be certified in radiography as required by 42 CFR Part 75.
- Must successfully pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE).
- Must meet clinical competency requirements as per service-specific credentialing instructions.
- Must have a current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Dental Hygienist.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine patients' oral cavities, including mouth, throat, and pharynx, and document conditions of teeth and surrounding tissues.
- Refer patients to a dentist if abnormalities such as cavities, defective fillings, suspicious growths, or periodontal disease are detected.
- Apply desensitizing and other topical agents for treating oral conditions such as caries prevention, gingivitis, and ulcerations.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques using models, visual aids, and practical demonstrations.
- Take impressions and construct custom sports/safety mouthguards and soft night guards for vital bleaching.
- Polish restorations and apply pit and fissure sealants.
- Assist chairside when directed by the Officer-in-Charge of the dental clinic.
- Record patient treatment details, maintain instruments, and ensure proper sterilization procedures.
- Utilize the Corporate Dental Application for patient workload entry, readiness tracking, and scheduling.
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Shifts: 8.5 or 9-hour shifts, including a 30-minute or 1-hour uncompensated meal break.
Maximum Weekly Hours: No more than 80 hours in a two-week period.
