Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in Histology and Cytology.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must meet all credentialing requirements and provide documentation of immunizations, physical exams, and tuberculosis screening (Two Step TST or Blood Assay).
Job Responsibilities:
- Gross tissue specimens, accession them into the computer system, embed, cut, stain, and cover-slip tissue samples.
- Prepare special stains for tissue as requested by pathologists.
- Assist pathologists in cutting surgical specimens, frozen sections, and autopsies.
- Process specimens using laboratory equipment to maintain specimen integrity.
- Serve as a backup morgue assistant when required.
- Identify and resolve any collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues.
- Ensure quality control and professional standards in all histological procedures.
