Medical Supply Technician

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential need for a Medical Supply Technician at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center. The VA Palo Alto Healthcare System, Supply Chain Services, currently needs Medical Supply Technicians to manage and distribute supplies throughout the VAPAHCS. The range of MST services are the same as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of the quality, meeting or exceedingly currently recognized national standards.  

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience 
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Job Details:

• 40 hrs per week. 8hr shifts to cover Day, Afternoon and Evening/Nights based on the VA business hours
• Business hours to include: 0700 AM-0330 PM; 0730AM-4000PM; 0800AM-0430PM; 1030AM-0700PM; 1130AM-0800PM; 1230PM-900PM; 0330PM-1200AM; 1200 AM – 0830 AM
• Schedules are write 2-4 weeks in advance

• Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing inventory: Pulling, replenishing, monitoring stock levels (including expiration dates and critical supplies), and conducting daily inventory using barcoding.
  • Distribution: Distributing supplies based on requirements and delivering them in a timely and functional condition.
  • Customer interaction: Providing information to customers and addressing any concerns.
  • Preparation and cleaning: Preparing specialty carts and cleaning assigned areas according to aseptic principles.
  • Receiving: Receiving supplies into the medical center.

• Highly organized, self-directed worker able to function in a high-volume environment without distractions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient level of experience with Microsoft Office applications and strong technical aptitude.
• Salary based on applicable experience to range from $39hr - $45 hr
