Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources, a third party contracting agency for the federal government agencies,  has a potential need for a Certified Nursing Assistant in the beautiful military city of San Antonio, TX. The work to be performed under this contract will be Inpatient at Brooke Army Medical Center, Joint Base San Antonio, TX in the following departments:

  • Individual Care Providers (ICP)

  • Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMTU) 5T

  • Discharge Lounge /Patient Care Coordination Cell (DL/PCC)

  • Post Partum 5E

  • Emergeny Department (ED)

  • OB/GYN

  • PRN/Pool Hours

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of State Approved C.N.A program
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • Current CNA Certification with no restriction
  • 2 years of clinical experience
  • United Sates Citizen
  • High School Diploma

Key Responsibilities

 

Direct Patient Care (90% of time):

  • Provide comprehensive nursing assistant services equivalent to those in a civilian medical treatment facility.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and physicians.
  • Deliver high-quality care, demonstrating knowledge of all care stages.
  • Implement care plans in accordance with the standards of the VA and Joint Commission.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment used in care delivery.
  • Provide patient and family education.

Administrative Duties (10% of time):

  • Participate in quality improvement activities and meetings as required.
  • Complete necessary quality assurance and performance improvement documentation.
  • Adhere to infection control standards and ensure patient safety.
  • Accurately document care in the electronic medical record system.

Work Schedule: 

  • Shift times can consist of eight (8) work hours with a non-paid 30-minute lunch or dinner break, (10) work hours with a 30-minute non-paid lunch or dinner break, or (12) work hours with a 30-minute non-paid lunch or dinner break. The maximum number of shift hours to be scheduled in a 24-hour period is 12 hours. Full-Time Personnel (FTE) employees will normally work 32-40 hours per week on rotating shifts Sunday through Saturday, including Federal holidays. Scheduling will be finalized by the Chief of Department or their designee. HCWs/CNAs may be required to work over 40 hours in a one-week period resulting in overage. Overage must be approved by the COR. The Chief of Department or their designee reserves the right to float the HCW to other appropriate patient care units, request additional shifts, and/or cancel scheduled shift(s) for HCPs.

  • NO ON CALL
  • Overtime Availaible depending on location.
