Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Electrocardiograph Technician to join our dynamic team at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.
Work Hours:
- (8) hours per day from 0730 to 1600 Monday through Friday.
- All holidays are observed.
- Lunch or dinner meal periods: employees that works an 8-hour
shift shall be entitled to two (2) 15-minute breaks and one (1) 30-minute meal
break. - 40 hours per week.
Requirements:
- Be able to operate instruments used to record electrocardiograms, exercise tolerance
tests, 24-48 heart monitoring and scanning, and pacemaker evaluations. Certification
is offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Certified
Cardiographic Technician (CCT). - Be knowledgeable of typical patient reactions and signs of medical/physical/
psychological distress including ability to recognize report and treat potentially lethal
arrhythmias. - Be knowledge of common ECG equipment settings and standardized operating
procedures and also knowledgeable of common errors and corrective measures. - Have the ability to demonstrate proper ECG lead placement.
- Possess knowledge of medical terminology.
- Have the ability to modify procedure/lead positioning to obtain correct results with
patients with complicated conditions such as amputations, Parkinson's disease, and
structural defects (e.g. scarred tissue). - Be knowledgeable in Operation Monitoring such as watching gauges, dials, or other
indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. - Have basic computer skills. Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Software
(e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
