Responsibility:
- Plan and coordinate all services provided by the Health Information Department.
- Supervise and maintain the Medical Records area including goal setting, planning, policy and procedure development, quality assurance and improvement, and competency of staff.
- Design and implement the processes used to manage patient information while ensuring privacy and security of all medical records.
- Provide leadership, strategic direction and management of the day to day operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) function.
- Act as a technical or administrative resource for comprehensive lean process improvement and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) initiatives.Coordinate, direct and evaluate daily activities of all file room operations at the FHCs.
- Provide on-going training to professional, clinical and clerical staff regarding the medical record contents, coding, confidentiality, and security.
- Train Super Users from each clinic department so as to increase the availability of Super User subject experts in each area.
- Report on the review of medical records for timely completion and documentation.
- Coordinate procedures for release of medical information and correspondence requests according to local policies, state and federal statutes and laws.
Requirements:
- Degree in Health Information Management
- Registered Health Information Associate (RHIA) certification
- 2+ years Health Information experience
- 1+ year of supervisory experience
- Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
