Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential need for a Sterile Processing Technician at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a processing technician
- Experience with Microsoft Office
Job Details:
- 40 hrs per week. 8hr shifts to cover Day, Afternoon and Evening/Nights based on the VA business hours
- Schedules are write 2-4 weeks in advance
- Key Responsibilities:
- Managing inventory: Pulling, replenishing, monitoring stock levels (including expiration dates and critical supplies), and conducting daily inventory using barcoding.
- Distribution: Distributing supplies based on requirements and delivering them in a timely and functional condition.
- Customer interaction: Providing information to customers and addressing any concerns.
- Preparation and cleaning: Preparing specialty carts and cleaning assigned areas according to aseptic principles.
- Receiving: Receiving supplies into the medical center.
- Highly organized, self-directed worker able to function in a high-volume environment without distractions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient level of experience with Microsoft Office applications and strong technical aptitude.
