Admissions & Disposition Clerk

Location: Mike O’Callahan Military Medical Center (MOMMC), Nellis AFB – Las Vegas, NV
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8‑hour shifts between 0700–1900

Position Summary

The Admissions and Disposition Clerk manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in a military hospital setting. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and families while ensuring accurate documentation, data entry, and compliance with DoD and HIPAA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Admit patients by greeting visitors, verifying identification and insurance, and creating patient records
• Coordinate patient discharges and transfers, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate
• Update electronic health records (EHR) and scan required forms
• Track patient status and bed availability
• Explain patient rights, obtain consent signatures, and assist patients in high‑pressure situations
• Review required documentation (e.g., AF Form 577 or equivalent) during inpatient stays

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required
• Experience in a medical office, hospital, insurance, or clerical role preferred
• Proficiency with computer systems and EHR platforms
• Knowledge of medical terminology and privacy regulations
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain base access to Nellis AFB
