Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential  opportunity for a civilian Registered Nurse - Rheumatology at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. This contract position offers:

 

Position Highlights:

  • Duty Hours: Monday-Friday 8-10 hour shifts between (0600am -1800pm) 30 minute lunch

Education and Experience:

The Rheumatology Registered Nurse will have the following requirements:

 

  • Must be a US citizen, or lawful permanent resident, or alien authorized to work in the US
  • Shall have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Shall hold and maintainCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS). Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
  • Shall have completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university; Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in nursing after graduation. Prior experience in rheumatology, infusion, or oncology preferred.

 

General Knowledge:

  • Must have knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, disease process and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience to acutely ill adults and geriatric patients as appropriate.
  • Utilize the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of disease management and education methods.
  • Working knowledge of military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents, to specifically include chemotherapeutic, immunotherapy agents, and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), including the desired effects, side effects, and complications.
  • Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients’ conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
