The Position will have the following requirements: - MD or DO Degree or be certified by ECFMG - Active TX Medical License - Current DEA registration - Board certification or eligible in Psychiatry - Active BLS certification   Key Duties Include - Provides direct care to patients within discipline Scope of Practice and performs functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing and or granted privileges. - Provides treatment of persons throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting. - Provides telepsychiatry services for patients at other IHSC facilities as needed and as the local facility allows, only in the states the provider is licensed, to include: - Working with the patient’s local primary care provider (PCP) to coordinate care for any identified medical concerns (patient’s local administrative staff will coordinate the appointment). - Using IHSC video teleconferencing equipment and electronic medical records (EMR) software to examine and record the patient’s plan of care. - Telepsychiatry services will be provided in accordance with the IHSC Tele-Mental Health Services policy. - OPTIONAL: Provider may choose to obtain additional state licensing, outside of the state of his/her duty station, to provide out-of-state telepsychiatry services. - May be expected to respond to and or coordinate response to medical emergencies. - Prescribes and monitors psychiatric medication treatment services including monitoring the side effects of medication and/or adverse reactions. - Offers comprehensive psycho-educational information with each medication/somatic treatment regarding the patient’s mental illness, emotional disturbance or behavior disorder, treatment goals, potential benefits and the risk of treatment, self-monitoring aids, and identifies support groups for therapeutic assistance.  

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for an Dental Assistant at Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in support of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detention Center.  This position offers: - Full-time opportunity, 40 hours per week - Part-time and PRN scheduling is available - Consistent and predictable income - Paid vacation and paid sick leave - Full complement of benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, 401k and more for those working at least 28 hours per week on a consistent basis.   The Position will have the following requirements: - Applicant must demonstrate successful completion of a dental assisting program located in the United States, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territory. - Applicant must have at least one year recent clinical experience in the United Sates as a practicing dental assistant. - Must hold and maintain a current unrestricted dental assisting certificate, license, or registration as required by the State Board of Dental Examiners (SBDE) in the state in which the duty station is located. - Must hold and maintain dental x-ray certification as required by the SBDE in the state in which the duty station is located OR if the applicant practices in a state that does not certify radiology or does not allow certification for graduates of non-accredited programs, the applicant must submit evidence of dental radiology training, experience, and competence as determined by the employing agency. - Dental Assistant National Board (DANB) certification is preferred but not required. - Must maintain BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.   Key Duties Include - Provides dental assisting including clinical and administrative duties to facilitate the work of the dentist and dental hygienist in a detention and/or residential setting in accordance with prescribed IHSC policy and pertinent accreditation standards. - Assists the dentist and dental hygienist with patient treatment including all operatory set-up and clean-up procedures in accordance with IHSC policy and CDC guidelines (e.g. surface disinfection, waterline and suction treatment, proper sharps handling/disposal methods, etc). - Performs optimum sterilization and/or disinfection procedures including instrument processing, autoclave operation/maintenance, and spore testing in accordance with IHSC policy and CDC guidelines. - Assists with the maintenance of patient's record through appointment scheduling, documentation of subjective findings, vital signs, dictated oral conditions, and preparation/completion of dental forms. - Provides patient education including oral hygiene instructions, post-operative instructions, and availability of care instructions. - Takes digital and/or film radiographs as ordered including bitewing, periapical, and panoramic x-rays.

Uses established intake tools for gathering subjective and objective data, referring abnormal findings or responses to a registered nurse, medical provider, dental provider, or behavioral health provers as appropriate. - Performs various treatments such as wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, etc. as ordered by a medical provider, dental provider, behavioral health provider, or registered nurse. - Collects laboratory specimens and performs point-of-care testing or prepares specimens for laboratory processing. Takes appropriate action on lab results received.
