Position Highlights:

Job Duties:
- Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care
- Free from coding, billing, insurance, satisfaction surveys, ICD-10 and DRGS

- Vast array of medical pathology that is not seen in any one other healthcare location
- Work is socially meaningful as patients are a socially marginalized and lack ordinary access to medical care whether due to lack of insurance, mental illness or homelessness (**for anyone interested in addiction medicine or mental health)
- Large degree of medical autonomy and free of micromanaging. Extensive nursing guidelines in place.
- Safer than most other healthcare settings as –weapons are forbidden, controversial inmates dealt with by correctional staff (safety and security takes precedence), inmates are punished for acting out, visits can be stopped at any time and restarted at a later date/time
Position Requirements:
- Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
- A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
- Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
- BLS from the American Heart Association

Position Details:Ind.Nurse
- Provide nursing services to injured Federal workers who has immediate time loss and has not returned to work within a specified number of days; will manage a case typically from 3 to 6 months
- Following up with the physician’s office and employee’s supervisor to coordinate light duty, job accommodations and return to work date
- Enter necessary and any relevant information regarding each case into the OWCP/DFEC case management system
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Active state or compact RN license to work in the assigned areas
- A minimum of two (2) years adult medical/surgical nursing experience and a minimum of two (2) years case management experience in the workers’ compensation arena.
- Ability to handle confidential patient information.
