Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor – Workers’ Compensation
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has opportunities for Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (RCs) to join our team! These services will be in support of the United States (U.S.) Department of Labor, Office of Workers’ Compensation (OWCP) and the Division of Federal Employees’ Compensation (DFEC). The RCs will be expected to travel as needed within their assigned region. The RCs will be expected to perform services to injured workers in person and telephonically in/around the Fresno area.
Position Details:
- Provide vocational counseling and guidance to individuals disabled under FECA. May manage a case for up to 2 years.
- Provide vocational assessments including but not limited to: vocational testing, work evaluations, and situational assessments
- As necessary, coordinate and schedule functional capacity evaluations, work hardening and similar inpatient/outpatient programs, and facilitating treatment for substance abuse
- Conduct appropriate job analyses and transferrable skills analysis as requested based on the needs of the assigned case
- Assist with vocational exploration and labor market surveys
- Develop plans for job seeking skills training, direct job placement, identification of qualification for any special Federal hiring authorities, and/or on-the-job or formal training
- Facilitate and supervise job readiness development and job placement services
- Provide specialized job, vehicle and home modification services and life care planning services in catastrophic cases
- Effectively and promptly communicate all case milestones and activities that require action including, but not limited to: return to work, work stoppage, and recurrence of symptoms, unrelated medical issues, and instances of non-cooperation.
- Competitive Compensation, with an estimated annual income of $60,000 0$120,000 depending on the caseload you would like to carry. ($60K is based on a twenty hour work week. Employees in this role can take on as many or as few cases as they desire.)
Required Position Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Vocational Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field
- Active, unrestricted Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC)
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in workers comp arena
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Also preferred, but not required:
- Knowledge of OWCP FECA laws, regulations and program

Specific Tasks:
- Provide nursing outpatient services for patients as scheduled by the Chief of Pain Management or Medical Director.
- Synthesize data from various sources and make appropriate clinical decisions.

Job Description: Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a skilled Echocardiogram Technician to join our team. As an Echocardiogram Technician, you will play a crucial role in performing a variety of cardiopulmonary functions to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position involves conducting electrocardiograms, exercise stress testing, ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring, and more.
Key Duties:
- Performs cardiopulmonary functions such as electrocardiograms, exercise stress testing, and ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring.
- Assesses heart structures and flows using 2-D and m-mode echocardiography, Doppler, and contrast colors.
- Assists physicians with transesophageal and stress echocardiography, as well as radionuclide and thallium studies.
- Interprets arrhythmias.
- May serve on cardiac catheterization (invasive) procedures teams.
- Assists in placing specialized equipment and instruments into the cardiovascular system for diagnosis and therapy, including cardiac pacemaker and balloon pump insertion.
Requirements:
- Degree/Education: An accredited cardiopulmonary laboratory specialist course. The technician MUST have a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential or equivalent. Incumbent will have 6 months to obtain RCS.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certifications are required. National certification and trauma-specific certifications are preferred but not necessary. Certifications must be through American Red Cross guidelines. Proof of current certification(s) through American Red Cross must be presented on the first day of work. Computer-based training does not fulfill the requirements. Certification must be maintained at no cost to the government. Recertification is NOT provided by the MTF. Credential may not lapse for any period of time.
- Experience: Experience performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to care for and treat cardiopulmonary laboratory patients. Experience performing diagnostic trans-thoracic echocardiograms, trans-esophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast studies, bubble studies, electrocardiograms, graded exercise tests, and Holter monitor procedures. At least 12 months of experience within the last 18 months.
